Hissing Haze brings together paintings and other wall-based works by 15 artists from Los Angeles and beyond. Conceived predominantly through existing social networks, there is no strict thematic linkage between the works. Many participating artists were asked to recommend artists they would like to exhibit with and the exhibition-making process developed organically. Despite this casual curatorial effort, certain threads do emerge.
